Make up your own band - Troubadour Edition
Unvergessen bleibt neben einer Reihe von Kompositionen für Sängerkolleginnen und -kollegen (Rachel Evans' "My Eyes And Your Eyes"; Michael Flatmans "Do Yer Have To Be So Goddarn Honest?" und The Abacadabra Bluegrass Quintets "Fjords of Freedom") sowie der Titelmusik für John Abercrafts 1969er Kultfilm Highway In The Sky ("(For The Rainbow Is A) Highway In The Sky", performed by Sarah P.) vor allem sein einziger eigener Hit, der 1967 einmal kurz die Top10 der Billboard Charts gestreift hatte, "Prisonland".
Aus gegebenem Anlaß zitieren wir den Text zur Gänze:
Prisonland (B.A. Fisher)
There's an old man in this prison
Doing time for the things he ain't done
The only thing he wants is to go out a while
And sit in the sun
There are many things he doesn't understand
But what's worst is that nobody has a friend
Here in Prisonland
There's a young man in this prison
Doing time for the things he ain't known
The thing he wants most is to talk to his girl
And not on the phone
There are many things that he will never have
But what's worst is that you don't have a friend
When you get out of Prisonland
There's a guard in this prison
And he ain't got no more feelings left
He's seen so many people - in for murder, in for rape
In for theft
There are many things that he has given up
And not even the guard has any friend
Here in Prisonland
